What
The entry describes the basic system requirements and hardware recommendations for operating SIDES.


You do not need any complex hardware equipment to run SIDES. Basically, the system runs on any device that has a browser and the appropriate power. SIDES can also be used on a tablet or cell phone, but you need at least a Windows computer to process and print the print jobs. Below we have outlined and described some hardware setups for different use cases. 

As an on-site computer system, we recommend at least one PC whose components are no more than about 2 years old. A "commercially available PC" is defined as the minimum requirements specified by Microsoft for the current Windows system (Windows 11). In addition, a commercially available consumer monitor, a Windows operating system, a receipt printer and a Chrome browser with a current version must be available.


Our recommendations

Hardware:
  1. Touch monitor: with a screen diagonal of 10 inches or more.
  2. PC: Windows computer with at least Windows 11 and 8 GB Ram
  3. iOS-Tablet: with at least iOS 16 and 6 GB Ram
  4. Android-Tablet: with at least Android 13 and 6 GB Ram
  5. Thermal receipt printer
  6. Barcode scanner
  7. Payment terminals: SIDES Pay (you will receive the SIDES Pay terminal from us)
  8. Self-service terminal: ONLY with SIDES Pay: min. 10 inch screen diagonal

Examples of a hardware setup

Delivery operation

In the delivery operations, you need an acceptance point for taking orders by telephone and a driver terminal at which the drivers assign the orders to themselves. The driver terminal can also be a tablet if, for example, there are space problems. In the kitchen, you should have at least one printer.






Restaurant operation

In the restaurant business, you need a point of acceptance for taking orders or for pickups, etc. The waiter can take orders directly from the customer using an Android smartphone.






Counter operation

In pure counter operation, one needs a receiving point for order taking or for collections, etc.
