Deposit types

What
Deposit types are used to define deposit amounts for specific items (e.g. for beverages).

Where
Admin: Item management > Deposit types.

Deposit types are used to centrally define deposit prices and then assign them to items. For example, you can create the corresponding deposit for beverages.

Typical use cases include single-use deposits, reusable deposits, single-use cans, or reusable beer bottles.

Create a deposit type

Add a deposit type:
  1. Go to Admin: Item management > Deposit types.
  2. Click "Add deposit type" at the top right.
  3. Enter a name for the deposit type, e.g., "Single-Use".
  4. Optional: Enter an internal or external item number.
  5. Select the appropriate tax to be applied to the deposit.
  6. Enter the deposit price per unit, e.g., "0.25" for €0.25 per bottle.
  7. Click "Save" to create the deposit type.

Additional options after saving

After saving and reopening the deposit type, additional input options are available:
  1. Subordinate deposit types (content)
Here you can define which individual deposit types make up the current deposit type.
Example: A crate deposit or mixed crate contains 8 bottle deposit units.

Create a subordinate deposit type:
  1. In the "Add content" section, click the "Deposit type" dropdown and select the desired deposit type.
  2. Enter the quantity, e.g., 8 for the number of units of this deposit type.
  3. Click the plus sign ("+") to add the deposit type with the specified quantity to the list.
  4. Repeat the process to combine additional deposit types if needed, e.g., for a mixed crate.
  5. Click "Save" to apply all changes.

Assign deposit type

Assign a deposit to an item:
  1. Go to Admin: Item management > Item > Edit.
  2. Open the sales item you want to assign a deposit type to by clicking "Edit".
  3. In the "Item" section, select the desired deposit type from the "Select type of deposit" dropdown menu.
  4. Click "Save" to apply the assignment.
