Item groups

Item groups

What
You can use item groups to clearly bundle related items. This is useful, for example, if you offer an item in multiple variants or sizes.

Where
Admin: Item management > Item groups.
Admin: Item management > Item > Edit > Groups.

You can use item groups to combine items of the same type.

Example:
You offer a salami pizza in several sizes. Instead of displaying each size individually, you can combine them in a shared item group called "Salami pizza".

Create item group

First, create a new item group and enter the basic information:
  1. Go to Admin: Item management > Item groups.
  2. Click "Add item groups".
  3. Enter a name for the item group. The name and the description will then be displayed in the webshop. The abbreviation is used on the buttons at the POS.

Display in Admin:
After you click "Add item group", this screen opens.
  1. In the first section, define the name of the item group.

  2. In the second section, specify the commodity groups in which the item groups should be displayed.

  3. In the third section, "Sort items", you can define the position at which the item should be displayed. To do this, you must first assign an item group in the item configuration under "Groups" (Admin: Item management > Items > Edit > Groups). The next section describes how to add items to the group.

You can adjust the order of the items using drag and drop. Click the desired item, hold it, and drag it to the appropriate position.

Add items to the item group

For an item to be displayed within the item group, you must assign it to the group.
  1. Go to Admin: Item management > Item > Edit > Groups
  2. Assign the item to the group.
  3. Enter an "Item abbreviation". This name will be displayed within the group if the slider below is not enabled. If the slider is enabled, the name specified for the item will be displayed instead.

  4. Next, return to Step 3, the third section "Sort items", to sort the items within the group (under Admin: Item management > Item groups > Edit > Sort items).
