How to best pass the amount to the payment terminal for pickup orders

What
For pickup orders with debit card payment selected, the amount can be transferred directly to the payment terminal.

Where
POS: Take out waiting for pick up.


Background

The customer places an order via the webshop or by phone for pickup. If they already select debit card payment as the payment method, the amount can be easily sent to the card terminal in the POS under "Take out waiting for pick up" when the customer arrives at the store.

Note: The green button shown in the image below only appears if a payment terminal is connected and if a payment method from the debit card card payment category was preselected during order placement.


Procedure

  1. Open the section "Take out waiting for pick up" in the POS.
  2. Select the corresponding order and click "Edit".
  3. Click the green button "Send amount to terminal" to transfer the amount directly to the payment terminal.






Activating the "Take out waiting for pick up" section

If the section "Take out waiting for pick up" is not active in your POS, please change the following setting:
  1. Navigate to Admin: Store management > Stores > Edit > Settings.
  2. In the section "Delivery and take away settings", set "Take away orders have to be assigned" to "Yes".


Notes on activation

Please note:
  1. This setting can only be used if you print a kitchen slip or use our kitchen manager. When this setting is activated, the invoice for pickup orders will no longer be printed immediately.

  2. Pickup orders are now listed under the new section "Take out waiting for pick up" in the POS and must be processed there when the customer arrives.

  3. The invoice is only printed after changing the payment method (e.g., to cash) or after transferring the amount to the payment terminal.
