In the profile area of the Restaurant POS app, you can set the device’s operating mode (e.g., POS, kitchen manager, or self-ordering terminal) and configure the corresponding options.

Introduction

In the Restaurant POS app, you can select your desired operating mode under "Profile" in the Menu > Profile section. The operating mode determines which function the app performs on the device, for example, as a POS (point of sale) system, kitchen monitor, or self-ordering terminal.

Additionally, you can store login credentials, configure automatic start options, and, in self-ordering terminal (SOT) mode, set a PIN to unlock the kiosk mode.








Operating Mode

You can set the desired operating mode of the app:
  1. POS (point of sale):
    Starts the app as a POS system.

  2. Kitchen manager:
    Starts the app as a kitchen monitor to display and manage incoming orders in the kitchen.

  3. SOT (self-ordering terminal):
    Starts the app in kiosk mode for self-ordering terminals, where guests can place their orders themselves.

In the home area, a corresponding button for the selected operating mode will then be displayed.





Options

You can configure the corresponding options for the selected operating mode:


URL

The "URL" field contains the address that the system connects to.

If you enter a different URL, click "Check URL". The app will verify whether the specified address is reachable.


Automatic login

When "Auto-Login" is enabled, the app will automatically log in with the stored credentials when it starts.

Additionally, choose the cash register where the login should take place.


Start automatically

When "Auto-Start" is enabled, the selected operating mode will start immediately when the app is opened.


Unlock PIN (SOT only)

In self-ordering terminal (SOT) mode, you can set a PIN to unlock the device.

PIN characteristics:
  1. Length: 4 to 8 digits
  2. This PIN allows you to exit kiosk mode

Important:
  1. If no custom PIN is set, the system will automatically use the default PIN. Operating the self-ordering terminal without a lock PIN is not possible.
  2. If you no longer have your PIN, please contact our support team.





Unlocking SOT:

In self-ordering terminal (SOT) mode, the terminal can be unlocked as follows:
  1. Tap the top-right corner of the display twice to reveal the gear icon for unlocking.
  2. The icon will automatically disappear after 3 seconds.
  3. Tap the gear icon and then enter your set PIN.
