SIDES Pay Changes to the WisePad 3 Bluetooth Pairing Process
Stripe is updating the Bluetooth pairing process for WisePad 3 card readers starting October 13, 2025, to enhance security and comply with new EU regulations.
Beginning in October 2025, Stripe will use a numeric comparison method for Bluetooth pairing on WisePad 3 devices. This means you’ll need to confirm a passkey both on your card reader and on your POS device when pairing.After updating your device to the latest software version, follow these steps when connecting your WisePad 3 to a new mobile application. Once your POS detects the WisePad 3 reader and displays it:
- Make sure the 6-digit code shown on the WisePad 3 matches the one displayed on the POS device.
- On the WisePad 3, select Confirm.
- On your POS device, select Pair.
Note: A numeric comparison is only required when pairing a WisePad 3 with a new POS device or when re-pairing with an existing POS device that has been previously “forgotten.”
