(Driving license must be reapplied for every 15 years - but the test must not be repeated!)
A1: Motorcycles with an engine capacity of no more than 125 cc and an engine power of no more than 11 kW, where the power/empty weight ratio does not exceed 0.1 kW/kg, as well as three-wheeled motor vehicles up to 15 kW.
A2: Motorcycles with an engine power of up to 35 kW, where the power/unladen weight ratio does not exceed 0.2 kW/kg, which are not derived from a motorcycle with an engine power of more than 70 kW.
AM: Light two-wheeled motor vehicles with a maximum design speed of not more than 45 km/h, a rated continuous power/useful power of not more than 4 kW and an internal combustion engine with a cylinder capacity of not more than 50 cm³ or another form of propulsion.
Three-wheeled mopeds with no more than two seats, a maximum design speed of no more than 45 km/h, a continuous rated power/useful power of no more than 4 kW, a maximum unladen mass of 270 kg and a positive-ignition engine with a cylinder capacity of no more than 50 cc or a compression-ignition engine with a cylinder capacity of no more than 500 cc or another form of propulsion.
Light four-wheeled road quads with a rated continuous power/useful power of not more than 4 kW and light four-wheeled motor vehicles with a rated continuous power/useful power of not more than 6 kW, each with not more than two seats, a maximum design speed of not more than 45 km/h, a maximum unladen mass of 425 kg and a positive-ignition engine with a cylinder capacity of not more than 50 cc or a compression-ignition engine with a cylinder capacity of not more than 500 cc or another form of propulsion.
Mopeds ("e-scooters"): No driving license is required to drive a moped [single-track bicycles with an auxiliary motor with a maximum design speed of 25 km/h]. However, a so-called test certificate must be carried. If you already have a driving license, you do not need a test certificate. The minimum age is 15 years.
