With the Stripe WisePad 3.0 in combination with the SIDES Drive app, contactless payments (e.g. credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay) can be accepted on site at the customer's location.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  1. iPhone 6 with iOS 12 (or newer) / Smartphones with Android 12.0 from 2024.
  2. An authorized and set up merchant account with STRIPE (link to setup: https://support.simplydelivery.de/portal/en/kb/articles/create-sides-pay-merchant-account).
  3. Only with the SIDES Drive app (iOS app version 2.1.4 / Android app version 2.1.5):


Steps to connect

  1. Download the SIDES Drive app.
  2. Connect the SIDES Drive app with your cash register system (POS system) (https://support.simplydelivery.de/portal/en/kb/articles/driver-app).
  3. Open the menu in the SIDES Drive app:
    1. To do this, click on the symbol with the three lines in the upper right corner.
    2. Select "Payment terminals".
    3. Tap "Search devices".
    4. Tap "Connect".
Once the Stripe WisePad 3.0 is connected, it is ready to use.




Instructions for use

  1. In the SIDES Drive app, click on "Handover".
  2. Select "EC-Terminal" as payment.
  3. Tap "Start transaction".
  4. Follow the instructions on the WisePad screen.

Troubleshooting

Connection to WisePad 3 is lost after minimizing the app

If the SIDES Drive app loses its connection to the WisePad 3 while running in the background or after being minimized, this is often caused by Android’s battery optimization settings. In this case, the app is put into power-saving mode, which interrupts the Bluetooth connection to the card reader.

Solution: Disable battery optimization for the SIDES Drive app

Turn off battery optimization for the SIDES Drive app in your Android settings.

Steps:
  1. Open the Android settings on your device.
  2. Go to Apps or App Management.
  3. Select the SIDES Drive app.
  4. Open the Battery section.
  5. Disable battery optimization for the app, or select Don’t optimize.

Result:
Disabling battery optimization prevents the SIDES Drive app from going into sleep mode too quickly when minimized. This usually keeps the connection to the WisePad 3 stable.
