The Home area in the Restaurant POS app is the central start page where you can see the status of devices, checkout stations, and users, and directly access important support and system functions.

Introduction

The Home area is your central start page in the Restaurant POS app.
Here you can quickly see the status of your devices (printers and, if applicable, Wisepad3), the currently selected checkout station, and the logged-in user. You also have direct access to important support and system functions.



Structure & functions in the home area

Checkout & user information

Top left you can see:
  1. The checkout selected when Auto-login (automatic login) is enabled.
  2. The current user, or if different, the user set for Auto-login.
This information helps you quickly verify that you are working at the correct checkout and logged in with the correct profile.





Device overview

The "Devices" section shows all connected hardware devices – currently mainly printers.

Printer Display
For each printer, the following is displayed:
  1. Printer name (e.g., "New Printer")
  2. Printer connection type
  3. Status (e.g., "Online")
Clicking "Device settings" takes you directly to the area where you can manage printers and, if applicable, your Wisepad3.



Support area

On the right, you will find all functions related to help, support, and system diagnostics.


Knowledge Base
Opens the documentation directly in the app, with guides, troubleshooting, and explanations of all SIDES functions.


Technical support
Access via Zoho Assist when you need help from the SIDES team.


Print Server Settings (see also Print server settings)
Manages the connection between the app and the cloud printing service, ensuring that print jobs are reliably sent to the correct printer.


Logging
Here you can view activity and error logs for checkouts, printers, terminals, and user sessions.
Tip: Pay attention to timestamps and [info]/[error] notes – they often indicate where a problem originates.
