Switching from OWN webshop URL to webshop version 2

This guide describes how to switch from your own webshop URL to webshop version 2.

Where
Admin: Webshop & App > Webshop settings.


Phase I - Configuration Phase

In addition to your webshop version 1 URL (yourdomain.de), you will receive a second SIDES Webshop URL for our new Webshop Version 2 (https://BRAND.sides-shop.com).

During the configuration phase, both webshop versions are connected to your admin panel. End customers will continue to use your webshop version 1, giving you time to configure your new webshop version 2.

IMPORTANT: Webshop version 1 and webshop version 2 share the following settings: the start page and background image (but not the background color), and the item images.

Product images

During the configuration phase, you can upload product images that meet the new requirements of webshop version 2. Please note that they will also be displayed directly in webshop version 1 (though slightly smaller than usual).

When uploading product images, please adhere to the requirements described in the guide "Webshop Version 2 - Uploading of product images".


Google API keys

Please add the new domain to your Google API keys so that it functions correctly during the configuration phase of webshop version 2 and can be tested by you > *.sides-shop.com/*


QR code table ordering

Please note that when switching (and going live) from webshop version 1 to webshop version 2 in phase II, the QR codes for your QR code table ordering will also change. If you are using this feature, please make sure to replace any printed QR codes accordingly.


Please thoroughly check your menu in webshop version 2 to ensure everything is functioning correctly, and also place a test order (using cash payment). In rare menu configurations with set menus, additional settings may need to be adjusted in your menu for webshop version 2.



Phase II – Go-live phase

The go-live phase should be scheduled carefully to ensure a smooth experience for the end customer.


What exactly does "go-live" mean?

In your case, with your own webshop URL, your customers already know your webshop URL, so you do not need to publish it again. The switch happens only internally on our side. You only need to agree with us on a target date for when we should carry out the switch on your URL.


Performing the switch

Send us an email at onboarding@get-sides.de and agree on a date with us. On your agreed-upon target date, only apply the final webshop settings listed below.


Final webshop settings

Webshop version 1 and webshop version 2 share the following settings in the webshop configuration: the start page and the background image (but not the background color).

If you want to set a background image instead of a background color during the switch, do this shortly before going live. The same applies to the start page settings.



Phase III – Completion

With the internal switch of your URL, the transfer from Webshop version 1 to webshop version 2 is complete for you.
