What This guide describes how to switch from your SIDES webshop URL version 1 to webshop version 2.

Phase I - Configuration phase
In addition to the URL for webshop version 1, you will receive a second URL for your new webshop version 2 (https://BRAND.sides-shop.com).
During the configuration phase, both webshop versions are connected to your admin panel. End customers will continue to use webshop version 1, giving you time to configure your new webshop version 2.
IMPORTANT: Webshop version 1 and webshop version 2 share the following settings: the start page and background image (but not the background color), and the item images.

Product images
During the configuration phase, you can upload product images that meet the new requirements of webshop version 2. Please note that they will also be displayed directly in webshop version 1 (though slightly smaller than usual).
When uploading product images, please adhere to the requirements described in the guide "Webshop Version 2 - Upload of product images".
Google API keys
Please add the new domain to your Google API keys so that all functions continue to work smoothly > *.sides-shop.com/*
QR code table ordering
Please note that when switching (and going live) from webshop version 1 to webshop version 2 in phase II, the QR codes used for your QR code table ordering will also change. If you use this feature, please make sure to replace any printed QR codes accordingly.
Please check your menu thoroughly in webshop version 2 to ensure everything is functioning correctly, and also perform a test order (with cash payment). In rare menu configurations involving meal bundles, additional settings need to be adjusted in your menu for webshop version 2.
Phase II - Go-live phase
The go-live phase should be planned carefully to ensure a smooth experience for the end customer.
What does "go-live" actually mean?
In principle, it involves two things:
- Publishing your new webshop URL, e.g., on Google, and
- Changing the webshop URL in the global store settings from webshop version 1 (https://BRAND.simplywebshop.de
) to the new webshop version 2 (https://BRAND.sides-shop.com)
Final webshop settings
Webshop version 1 and webshop version 2 share the following settings in the webshop configuration: the start page and the background image (but not the background color).
If you want to switch from using a background color to a background image, make sure to set this right before publishing. The same applies to configuring the start page.
Add the new shop URL
Enter your new webshop URL in the global store settings of your admin (Admin: Global settings > Global store settings > Other settings > Webshop settings).
Publishing the new URL
Publish your new URL across your channels, for example in your Google Places listing.
Phase III - Completion
URL redirection
If everything is running smoothly, we can set up a URL redirection for you. This ensures that end customers who, for example, still have the webshop version 1 URL on old flyers are automatically directed to your new webshop version 2.
You can wait 1–2 days before requesting us to set up the URL redirection. This gives you the option to revert the switch on short notice in case something is not fully configured yet.
Please note: The URL redirection does not happen automatically and must be explicitly requested by you.
