Waste and promo

What
"Waste and promo" can be used to document processes in which products or ingredients are disposed of or given away free of charge for promotional purposes.

Where
Admin: Inventory management > Waste & Promo.


Use waste and promo

Waste and promo is used when:
  1. Products need to be disposed of (e.g. due to spoilage),
  2. Products are distributed free of charge for promotional purposes,
  3. Or products have been consumed for personal use.



Recording in the cash register (POS) or the administration

You can record waste and promotions in two ways:
  1. Through the POS dashboard under POS: Dashboard > Waste/Promotion.
  2. Or via the administration panel under Admin: Inventory management > Waste & Promo.



Recording in the administration

To record waste and promotions in the administration, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Admin: Inventory management > Waste & Promo.
  2. Click the "Choose Action" button at the top right.
  3. Select the appropriate category:
    1. Waste
    2. Promo
    3. Self consumption
    4. Other
  4. In the next screen:
    1. Select the "Date".
    2. Search for the "Item".
    3. Enter the "Quantity" and add a "Comment".
    4. Click "Save".

The product will then be automatically recorded.







Overview and reporting

In the overview under Admin: Inventory management > Waste and Promo, you can:
  1. filter by "Store",
  2. search for specific "Items",
  3. specify a desired "Time Period",
  4. export the list with "Export",
  5. and print it out.
If recordings have already been made, the corresponding results will be displayed after you select a date.

Table structure:
  1. The first table shows the totals of the recordings by category (waste, promotion, self consumption, other).
  2. In the detailed view below, you can see when, what, and by whom the recording was made.
  3. Clicking on the eye icon "Show" will display the details of the record.
  4. If you click on the trash can "Cancel", the entry will be canceled and then displayed with a strikethrough.
