Introduction

In the area "Maintenance" you will find all the important tools to maintain your restaurant POS app, analyze issues and carry out updates or a new setup. This guide explains the individual functions and shows you when you should use them.

Clear POS/SOT cache

The POS/SOT (Point-of-Sale/Self-Ordering Terminal) cache contains locally stored browser elements such as cookies, temporary files, saved logins, and website settings.

When should you clear the cache?
  1. If the app responds unusually slowly.
  2. If display errors occur.
  3. If logins or settings are not loading correctly.

This is how you clear the cache
  1. Open the "Maintenance" section in the menu.
  2. Choose "Clear browser data".
  3. Confirm the process.
Important: When clearing the cache, saved logins may be lost - have your login details ready.

View logs

Under "Logging" allows you to view activity and error logs for cash registers, printers, terminals and user sessions.

What are protocols useful for?
  1. Analysis of printer errors.
  2. Troubleshoot login or connection errors.
  3. Diagnosis of software errors.
  4. Resolve support requests faster.

View logs
  1. Open the "Maintenance" section in the menu.
  2. Click on "View logs".
  3. Use the button "Copy", for example to send content to support.
Tip: Pay attention to timestamps and [info]/[error] notes - they often reveal where an error occurs.

Here you can find out whether a new version of your SIDES POS app is available.

Perform update
  1. In the area "Maintenance" you will see the current available version.
  2. Click on "Load installer" to download and install the new version.
Important: Schedule updates outside of live operation as a reboot is required.

With the setup assistant you can completely set up the SIDES POS app - ideal after a device change, reset or for basic reconfiguration.

What can you set up here?
  1. Operating mode (POS, Kitchen Manager, SOT).
  2. Login details and checkout.
  3. Add and configure printers.
  4. Select templates.

Start setup
  1. Open the "Maintenance" section in the menu.
  2. Click "Start setup".
