SOCP Update

SOCP Update

This guide describes step by step how to install SimplyDelivery Cloud Print (SOCP) on a Windows computer.
The installation is required to ensure that orders are correctly transmitted to the connected printers.

1. Dashboard
Log in to SIDES Admin and click on “Dashboard”.

2. Help & Manual
Click on “Help & Manual” in the top right corner.

3. Select and download SOCP
Scroll down and click on “Simply Order – Cloud Printing (SOCP)”.
The installation file will be downloaded automatically and saved in the Downloads folder.

4. Open the installer
Open the downloaded file setup_socp.exe from the Downloads folder.

5. Confirm Windows security message
Click on “More info”.

6. Allow execution
Select “Run anyway”.

7. Approve installation
Confirm the User Account Control prompt with “Yes”.

8. Choose installation type
Select “Full installation”, leave all components enabled (including Ghostscript), and click “Next”.

9. Enable all options
Check all boxes and click “Next”.

10. Complete the installation
Click “Finish” to complete the installation.

11. Check SOCP on the system
Open the Windows search, type “SOCP” or “simplydelivery cloud print”, and click on the application.

12. Open SOCP
Open SimplyDelivery Cloud Print via the taskbar icon.
Right-click the icon and select “Show”.

13. Open SOCP settings
In the SOCP window, click on the “Settings” tab.

14. Configure the retrieval method

Only one retrieval method may be enabled at a time for print transmission.
The setting must be identical in SIDES Admin and in SimplyDelivery Cloud Print (SOCP).

There are two valid configurations:
Option 1: HTTPS
In SOCP: HTTPS enabled, SQS disabled
In SIDES Admin: Connection “HTTPS” selected (see step 18)
Option 2: SQS
In SOCP: SQS enabled, HTTPS disabled
In SIDES Admin: Connection “Queue with SQS” selected (see step 18)

If HTTPS and SQS are enabled at the same time, or if the settings are not identical, printing issues may occur.

15. Restart SOCP
Right-click the SOCP icon in the taskbar and select “Exit”.

Open SOCP again as described in step 11.
As soon as the SOCP icon is visible in the taskbar again, SimplyDelivery Cloud Print (SOCP) is active.

16. Open the printer section
In SIDES Admin, click on “Hardware & System” → “Printers”.

17. Edit printer
In the printer overview, click the “Edit” icon (pencil) for the printer.

18. Select the connection to match the SOCP setting
In the Connection field, select the appropriate option and save the setting.
The selection must match the retrieval method configured in SimplyDelivery Cloud Print (SOCP) in step 14.
