Set up production numbers (pickup number)

InfoTo improve usability, we have revised the navigation structure. It can be switched via "Activate new navigation" in the dashboard. As part of this update, some terms have been adjusted and navigation items reorganized. This entry already uses the updated navigation structure. What
A production number (pickup number) can be set up so that it is visible in all relevant areas (POS, kitchen manager, and invoice and kitchen receipt).

Where
Admin: Global setting > Global store settings > Other settings > Call centers and POS settings > Use customer aliases.
Admin: Customer management > Customer alias > Alias ​​generator.

Introduction

These instructions describe the necessary setup and usage flow for production numbers (pickup numbers) in the SIDES system. The goal is to generate a clear, consecutive pickup number and make it visible in all relevant areas (POS, kitchen manager, invoice and kitchen receipt).


Description

  1. Each new order receives a clear production number across the system.
  2. The function is store-wide.
  3. The production numbers/aliases are generated across stores.
  4. Recommendation: This setting should be activated before the store opens so that there is no confusion among restaurant customers during ongoing operations.


Overview

  1. Activate the setting: Switch on the admin settings for production numbers and activate the display in the kitchen manager.
  2. Adjust templates: Adjust invoice templates and kitchen templates.
  3. Usage: Production number is visible in the POS (cash register) and continuously shown in the kitchen manager.

  2. Permissions for the template adjustment.
  3. Recommendation: Assistance from our support team.


Activate production numbers

1. Admin: Activate production numbers/alias

  1. Open the admin area.
  2. Go under Admin: Global setting > Global store settings > Other settings > Call centers and POS settings > Use customer aliases.
  3. Activate the central setting "Use customer aliases" for the use of production numbers/aliases.








2. Admin: Generate production numbers/alias

  1. Go to Admin: Customer management > Customer alias > Alias ​​generator.
  2. The "Alias ​​generator" button opens the modal to generate the production numbers.
  3. Then click on "Generate and save".








3. Kitchen manager: Enable show customer alias

  1. Open the kitchen manager.
  2. Go to the "Settings".
  3. Activate the setting "Show customer alias" so that the generated numbers are visible in the kitchen manager.
  4. Notice: This is a local setting. This must be activated on every device! It does not work across all devices.
  5. The setting is only saved locally on your device. If the cookies are deleted or reset, you have to switch on the setting on the device again.




4. Adjust receipts

4.1. Customize kitchen templates (assistance from support)
  1. If you would like the production number to appear on kitchen receipts/layouts, please contact our support team to make adjustments to the kitchen templates.
  2. Use the placeholder %CUSTOMER_ALIAS% for the alias/the pickup number.
  3. Notice: The production numbers are generated automatically and can be displayed in the POS, kitchen manager and, after template update, on documents.


4.2. Adjust invoice templates (assistance from support)
  1. In order for the production number to appear on invoices/receipts, the invoice templates must be adjusted.



5. Overview in the POS - where do I see the pickup code?

A. At the self-order terminal (SOT)

  1. After completing the order, the self-order terminal shows the production number as an order number.




B. Orders to be collected

  1. In the POS under "Take out waiting for pick up" the production number is displayed.



C. Order overview

  1. Open an order in the "Order overview" in the POS. The production number is displayed there.





D. Kitchen manager

  1. In the kitchen manager, the continuous production numbers are shown across channels (POS, SOT, web shop etc.).






Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Why do I not see a production number in the POS?
    1. Check whether the admin setting is active and the order entry channels used are enabled (under Admin: Global setting > Global store settings > Other settings > Call centers and POS settings > Use customer aliases + Customer aliases for the following output channels).

  2. Why do I continue to see invoice numbers in the kitchen manager?
    1. The setting "Show customer alias" is a local setting. Check on each of your devices whether the setting is active.

  3. The pickup number (production number) is missing on the invoice.
    1. The invoice is probably not yet updated. Create a ticket to our support and ask for an adjustment.

  4. How do I delete my existing aliases/production number?
    1. In the admin under "Customer alias" you can find the customer alias generator (Admin: Customer management > Customer alias > Alias ​​generator.). Here you can simply enter your new production numbers.
    2. Important: Click the checkbox "Delete current inventory".

  5. If I cancel an order, will the alias be reset?
    1. No reset of the alias is carried out for cancellation. Continuous numbering!

  6. Why do my self-order (SOT) CASH orders not appear in the kitchen manager?
    1. Check if this setting is active in your kitchen manager store settings:
      "Self-service terminal: Orders are only displayed on the kitchen manager and the kitchen receipt is printed once they have been paid and have an invoice number" (under Admin: Store management: Stores > Edit > Settings > Kitchen manager).
