In short

With this checklist you have everything together before the setup starts. Go through it before you book your first appointment with Sid, and every session moves faster.

Applies to: All new SIDES customers. Points that only apply to certain modules or only to Germany are marked.

The key rules at a glance

You need at least one Windows PC: it processes the print jobs. A tablet on its own is not enough.
For remote support during your appointments we connect to a Windows PC. We can't connect to a tablet.
Only book your appointments once your hardware has arrived.

Access

You have received your customer number and your login details.
You have logged in to the admin area.
You have logged in on the till.
You have installed Sid in Google Chrome and opened the chat with Sid in the admin area.

Technology

PC with at least Windows 11 and 8 GB RAM, components no older than about two years
the current version of Google Chrome
an internet connection of at least 16 Mbit/s
a thermal receipt printer, connected and switched on
a Google account with a payment method for your Google API key, see Google API key generation. Every store needs the key, not only for delivery.
Optional: touch monitor from 10 inches, tablet (iOS 16 or Android 13 and newer, at least 6 GB RAM), barcode scanner

Your menus are complete, as PDF files or as photos of complete, sharp pages.
Prices for all sizes and extras are included.
You have sent Sid your menus, see Send your menu.

Delivery (if you deliver)

your delivery areas with minimum order value and delivery fee, see Delivery areas
the login details or restaurant ID of your delivery platforms, for example Lieferando, Thuisbezorgd, Wolt or Uber Eats

SIDES Pay

For the verification with Stripe you have your mobile number, your IBAN, an ID and a proof of address such as a bank statement ready.
Your SIDES Pay payment terminal has arrived, if you ordered one.

Till registration (Germany only)

your 13-digit tax number in ELSTER format
access to ELSTER, or your tax adviser submits the till registration for you

Every new till must be reported to the tax office within 30 days. How: Add cash register and cash register reporting according to §146a AO.

Booked modules

Webshop: legal notice (Impressum), privacy policy, logo and photos of your dishes
Own app: an Apple developer account
Self-Ordering Terminal (SOT): the hardware has been delivered.

Appointments

You booked your appointment with Sid after your hardware arrived.
During the appointment the PC is on, Google Chrome is open and your login details are at hand.
Someone who knows how the restaurant works and can make decisions takes part.
